Traditional Asian Cuisine Meets Modern Meat
Lamb dishes are favorites on P.F. Chang’s Menu

May 1, 2007 -- You’ll do it for a romantic evening. You’ll even do it for special holidays. But what about in the middle of a contemporary Chinese bistro?

It used to be that lamb was only for special occasions – but the forward thinkers at P.F. Chang’s are finding huge success with this mild, flavorful protein. This isn’t surprising, as their chefs are known for creating fresh dishes with traditional and modern appeal.

“Lamb is a relatively untapped ingredient,” says P.F. Chang’s Corporate Executive Chef Bob Tam.  “It is used more in small white table cloth restaurants while most chains ignore it as a menu option. We want to offer our guests the variety and quality they deserve.”

The restaurant currently offers Chengdu Spiced Lamb and Wok Seared Lamb; both prepared with succulent lamb legs from Superior Farms, and are favorites of P.F. Chang’s patrons nationwide.  Also, the innovative chef’s at P.F. Chang’s are busy creating new items for the future.

“We have an award-winning product,” said Gary Pfeiffer , Vice President of sales and marketing for Superior Farms. “With help of this caliber, we hope that more people will try lamb and realize that it is a delicious option that doesn’t have to be for special occasions. It is a high-protein product that can be used in every-day meals.”  Parent company Superior Farms also imports Country Meadow lamb, raised on pure pasture lands in Australia with a vegetarian diet.

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) is featuring Country Meadows lamb along with other native products at the Australian Pavilion at the National Restaurant Association Show, booth 2841. There you can sample lamb and enter to win a free case of product.
