Superior
Farms Hosts the California Wool Growers Association
Dixon,
California - August 9, 2002 Superior Farms hosted 80 members
of the California Wool Growers at the Dixon facility. The
members of the Wool Growers were divided into groups and
taken on different tours associated with all aspects of the
plant. After the tours the members were taken to a tent area
and enjoyed a lamb lunch prepared by Superior Farm’s
employees. The luncheon provided time for the Wool Growers
to ask questions and all attendees to share industry
experiences.
Deirdre
Flynn, Executive Director of the California Wool Growers
stated, “I have to admit I was overwhelmed at how much
technology has evolved since my last tour eight years ago.
It was an excellent opportunity for producers to come into
the plant to gain a better understanding of the important
role Superior plays, not only in the purchasing of lamb but
in the bigger scheme of making products available to
consumers. Products that maybe we do not see in our local
stores but products that are being consumed by Americans”.
The
tour was a great success and definitely a positive effort
for all involved. Superior provided hats for all Wool Grower
members and Deirdre went on to say, “Throughout the
remainder of the convention the buzz was the great tour and
treatment we received at Superior’s plant”.
Superior feels more of these types of endeavors will
lead to a better understanding of the role all segments play
within the industry. |
